It all began in March 1999. We dreamed of creating a safe and beautiful space for the animals of Ambergris Caye….and here we are 24 years later!

New Kennels
Before we break ground, we have to make sure our resident canines at Fort Dog, have a place to stay. So, we have built new kennels, a little farther back, to increase the space for our new build. (September 2023)

New Site Drainage
We all know it likes to rain in San Pedro. We have thought about everything! Our new site will have built in drainage to handle the cleaning of the kennels and the most fierce of rain waters! (September 2023)

Assembling piles.
It is the end of December and all of the 26 piles have been made, and we are awaiting the New Year so that the digging can begin.

Breaking Ground
January 10th, 2024: The pile holes have been dug out, and the piles have been set! Things are moving quickly on site, which is fantastic news for our furry population. We still have funds to raise, so please donate to help complete the build!
