Saga Humane Society began in 1999 when a small group of women worked to save animals abandoned to the streets. Their efforts created an organization dedicated to promoting kindness and preventing cruelty to domestic and wild animals.

Saga Humane Society is a non-profit dedicated to replacing animal cruelty with kindness. We provide medical care, shelter, and subsidized veterinary services for low-income families through the island’s only non-profit clinic, spay/neuter and vaccination campaigns, adoptions, and public education. Our vision is a permanent clinic and education center in Ambergris Caye, Belize, and long-term solutions to end abuse, neglect, and overpopulation.

Born in December of 2024, Dargel is a daschund mix. He arrived at Saga in January of 2025 at only 4 weeks old. He arrived with four siblings, all of which have since been adopted. He is friendly, playful, and great with cats, kids and other dogs! Dargel is waiting for you.

Peppo is approximately 6 to 8 years old and arrived at Saga in August of 2023. He is a long time resident and we don’t understand why!? He is good with other dogs, but not with cats. He needs a home that wants to keep him forever, so must have a fenced in yard. Peppo prefers a home without children. Come and meet him and fall in love.

Tuxedo and Little Heart (aka Corazoncito) are 3-year-old brother kitties who arrived at SAGA together as tiny kittens. While they can be adopted individually, we are hoping Tuxedo and Little Heart are adopted together as a bonded pair. Even in a roomful of cats at SAGA, these two boys are always side by side.

Tuxedo and Little Heart are very friendly with humans. Since they have had no interaction with dogs, the SAGA team suggests they live in a dog-free home, or with a young puppy that they could warm up too.

These brothers are healthy and have beautiful fur coats with the classic “tuxedo” cat colors, black & white. Tuxies are known to be friendly, easy-going, playful, talkative, loyal, and dog-like.
